Product Description

Gardenia , the dried ripe fruit of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis (Rubiaceae), is widely used in
traditional medicine for its cholagogue, sedative, diuretic, antiphlogistic, and antipyretic effects.
Additionally, gcape jasmine fruit p.e is an externally used drug with a long heritage and tradition
in the treatment of sprain. Many iridoid glycosides were isolated from Gardeniae Fructus in previous
investigations. Some of them, for example, Geniposide.

The results showed that the extracts of gardenia jasminoides had no toxic effect on liver cells.  Gardenia
jasminoides can reduce serum bilirubin content, but has nothing to do with glucuronic acid transferase. 
Gardenia can also reduce liver damage caused by carbon tetrachloride.
