Sesamin is the most prominent lignan compound found in sesame seeds, one of the two highest sources of lignans in the human diet (the other being flax). Skin cancer: Sesamin appears to augment the skin accumulation of γ-tocotrienol, and secondary to that increases its protective effects (J Nutr Sci Vitaminol 2008, 54, 117.). In short, Sesamin appears to augment the actions of all vitamin E vitamers simply because it allows more vitamin E to bioaccumulate in your body and exert their effects.
