Xanthoparmelia is a kind of lichen belonging to the genus Xanthoparmelia and the family Parmeliaceae. This family of lichen is found allover the world. The name xanthoparmelia means 'golden yellow parmelia'. The photobiont (photosynthetic partner) is trebouxioid (a genus of algae).
A number of chemicals are found naturally in Xanthoparmelia scabrosa, importantly including PDE5 inhibitors, such as epipolythiopiperazinediones, Pyrazolo pyrimidinone, 4-Methylpiperazine and Pyrazolo Pyrimidin-7-1. In the body, cyclic Guanosine MonoPhosphate (cGMP) relaxes the muscles around the penis, increasing blood flow, and thus allows a proper erection. Phosphodiesterase-V (PDE-5) binds to and destroys cGMP. If you have erectile dysfunction or have just ejaculated, your levels of cGMP are extremely low because the PDE-5 breaks down the cGMP, weakening your erection. Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa with these substances supports healthy erectile function, delays the work of the PDE-5 enzymes, make the penis stay erect longer and delays the flaccid state; relax smooth muscles around the penis, maximize arterial dilation, increase blood flow to the penis, then dramatically increases libido. It works in the body similarly to Horny Goat Weed Extract, but may be more effective than Horny Goat Weed for some people.
