Equisetum arvense L. is a small and medium-sized fern in the family Equisetum Arvense. The roots are black and brown, and the branches on the ground are withered. Cladotype II. Up to 35 cm tall, yellowish-brown, chestnut or light yellow sheath, chestnut brown, narrowly triangular, can wither after spore dispersal. Germinate after sterile branch, triangular sheath teeth, persistent. Lateral branches are soft and slender, flat, spore panicle cylindrical, apex blunt, stalk elongated at maturity.
